Our Commitment to Community Growth and Support:
At Granby Suites, we’re proud to support our community through outreach events, development programs, tenant incentives, and meaningful partnerships. Our facility’s success depends on the growth and achievements of the businesses and individuals we house. We see Granby Suites as a starting point — not the final destination — for many small businesses. We love and appreciate our tenants, and while we’re grateful to be part of their journeys, we celebrate when they outgrow our space. That’s why we strive to provide resources to help our community members keep growing. Our mission is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where entrepreneurs can thrive both professionally and personally. By investing in our tenants and the community, we aim to strengthen the local economy and uplift the area as a whole. Owned and maintained by Northern natives with roots in Rochester, NY, and Washington, DC, we are deeply committed to giving back to the community that has embraced us. We’re especially excited to soon launch our first ever scholarship and small business grant to empower local students and entrepreneurs. Giving back is at the heart of everything we do. Since opening our doors, we’ve proudly hosted a variety of events and initiatives designed to uplift, support, and connect with our neighbors and local organizations. Our goal is to create meaningful experiences, build partnerships, and empower those around us to grow and thrive. Past Events & Initiatives: “Something in the Salon” Community Appreciation Event (2022 & 2023): Hosted giveaways, a candy bar, and gift card raffles during the Something in the Water festival, creating a fun space to network and build partnerships for future charity events. Back to School Giveaway (August 2024): Provided free school supplies, food, and a moon bounce to 50 families to help kids start the school year with joy. Trunk or Treat (October 2024): Offered free candy, games, prizes, food, entertainment, and a moon bounce for families to enjoy a festive Halloween. Beach Cleanup (May 2022): Gave back by cleaning Virginia Beach and Ocean View Beach in Norfolk in preparation for summer. Clothing Drive for Domestic Violence Shelter (October 2024): Collected essential clothing items to support survivors during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Breast Cancer “Letters of Love” (October 2024): Collected heartfelt notes for patients undergoing treatment, inspired by our owner’s mother’s victory over breast cancer. Canned Goods Drive (Thanksgiving 2022 & 2023): Gathered donations to support local food banks and families during the holidays. Toy Drive for Shelters (December 2022 & 2023): Donated toys to children in need, spreading holiday joy. Food Bank Volunteer Session (Summer 2022): Sorted and packaged donations to help those facing food insecurity. Black Friday Food Service (November 2024): Served meals to homeless community members with dedication and heart. We’re excited to continue expanding our community outreach with new events, programs, and resources designed to support local families, entrepreneurs, and causes close to our hearts. From health and wellness initiatives to educational workshops and seasonal drives, we remain committed to making a positive impact and creating opportunities for growth and connection.
